Desperately Seeking Taco

The Taco Truck’s slogan is "Eat More Tacos". Well I certainly want to!
The Taco Truck serves authentic Mexican street food, using organic and locally grown ingredients.  I visited The Taco Truck and was instantly turned into an admirer. The truck usually serves Hoboken and Jersey City, but if you are lucky enough, you can sometimes catch the truck making a rare appearance in Manhattan, if you say your prayers.  The Taco Truck also opened a storefront last year, in downtown Hoboken.  Geez, why is New Jersey so lucky…this makes me want to whine and stamp my feet a little. Can someone please tell The Taco Truck that Manhattan desperately wants to Eat More Tacos???
I had the pescado…A crispy catfish taco served on a tortilla, with red cabbage, pico de gallo, and chipotle salsa. The taco was smothered in Mexican tarter sauce, but I didn’t care. I dove in carelessly, leaving evidence of this joyous taco all over my face. Boy oh boy, it was mouth watering. I want another…like NOW!

I also had the special corn on the cob.  It was covered in mayo, butter and chili powder. I have been hearing a lot of praise and worship for this corn. Ehh… it was just ok. I don’t get what all the hype was about.

The Taco Truck recently won best food truck in NJ at the Vendy Awards. Now the taco, I get it, definitely award winning, but the corn, I don’t see it. Maybe I'm wrong. Maybe my palette is not sophisticated enough to understand the beauty of this corn. But I think I'm a pretty good judge of character. And by character, I mean food. I wouldn't order this again. I was underwhelmed to say the least.
But the taco…ohhh, the taco…was enough to make me keep coming back…even if I do have to go all the way to New Jersey to get it.
